About Me

A trauma informed, neuro-affirming, body oriented psychotherapist

I like to incorporate elements from somatic approaches, talk therapy,  and coaching to support you in finding your way to experiencing ease in life and parenting.

My approach is to get to the root of what it is specifically that makes life feel hard for you, so you can recover your SELF, like who you are, and feel confident in the way you live, and parent.

I’m compassionate and professional, fully qualified, insured, and committed to my own personal and professional development. I undertake regular supervision to ensure I am bringing my best self to your sessions.

My Story

Motherhood introduced me to challenges I hadn’t anticipated. Initially, I struggled to meet the expectations I had set for myself as a mother, and the weight of this newfound responsibility felt heavier than anything I had experienced before. Anxiety stemming from past trauma compounded my difficulties, leaving me feeling like a failure and straining my relationships.

However, through introspection fueled by my training, reading, and a determination to understand my struggles, I’ve gained profound insights. I’ve come to recognize that our past experiences, adaptations, and neurological makeup shape how we navigate the world and relate to others.

Acceptance of reality, I’ve learned, is key to growth. Striving for perfection only keeps us trapped. Motherhood served as a catalyst, forcing me to confront aspects of myself I had long avoided to spare discomfort.

My journey includes a traumatic separation from my mother, neurodivergence, and a battle with infertility before embracing adoption. Despite aligning with parenting philosophies like attachment-focused and gentle parenting, I’ve realised my past tendencies towards enmeshment and narcissism.

Through therapy, community support, and the listening tools of Hand in Hand Parenting, I’m reclaiming myself as a parent. I’m learning to respond rather than react, to set and respect boundaries, and to embrace imperfection.

My purpose now is to support others on similar journeys. I’m here to share what I’ve learned, acknowledging that I’m still learning myself, particularly as I navigate the challenges of adolescence with my own child. It’s an honor to accompany others as they rediscover themselves and find peace in their parenting journey. Together, we can “Recover YourSELF as You Parent.”
